Flo is a native French teacher, born and educated in France, fluent in English and Spanish. She used to manage a language school in Paris. Recently she has retired after 15 years teaching French and Spanish both at Aylesbury College UK and giving private tuition in Solihull in UK and now shares her time between France and UK.
She is an experienced teacher teaching Adults and also teenagers preparing for A Level. She believes the FULL IMMERSION scheme for only one or two persons at a time, is the best for improving language skills and strictly encourages students to stick to French language throughout their week in full immersion.
Her French language immersion course puts emphasis on oral communication : listening, understanding, speaking (pronunciation, liaisons, intonation). The content of the lessons varies to suit each individual's needs and level. Explanation of grammar points as well as introduction and practise of new vocabulary are a daily part of the courses.
The stays start on Sundays after 5.00 pm and finish on Saturdays at 10.00 a.m.
If people are registrered for a second week, they are allowed to stay free with us during the week-end.
Lessons start on Saturday by a one-hour-lesson about orientation and assessment.
During week-days there are a 3 hour daily routine : after breakfast, from 10 to 12, a two-hour lesson is followed by lunch at 1.00/1.30. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday the three guided outings towards Biarritz, Bayonne, Sare or Saint Jean de Luz or even San Sebastian take place ( flexibility is of course possible). On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, students are free to explore the tourist spots, practice a sport or any activitiy of their choice or relaxe at home or study. A one hour lesson will take place before diner. Dinner is served at 8.00/8.30. Free time afterwards.
The house is situated in the rich French department of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques meaning opening onto the Atlantic Ocean and lying at the foot of the Pyrénées mountains. It is situated in a quiet country lane on the Eastern side of Biarritz, 1 mile from the famous beaches and …the casino. The newly built house has 3 bed-rooms and two bath-rooms. The premises provide luxurious accommodation with a large shaded terrace, perfect for dinner. All amenities 5 minutes walk. Wifi and TV. Public transport 5 minutes wak.
